Re-make of the 2009 show

Al Bowlly’s Croon Manifesto

Roll back the carpets and push back the chairs . Untied Artists in collaboration with Black Country Touring, Forest Arts Centre, & Creative Black Country bring you rip-roaring performance of music, theatre, and dance.

Al Bowlly was arguably the first ever ‘pop star’, his life is ripe for re-visiting, Bowlly had a rock & roll lifestyle before rock was invented. The show is a celebration of Britain’s greatest singer of the dance band era and offers an insight into a pre-pop pioneer who lived fast and died young. The show will feature some of Bowlly’s best known songs, tunes you’ve heard a hundred times but can’t place such as ‘The very thought of you’, and ‘Buddy can you spare a dime’.

“He might be the most famous singer you’ve never heard of. Popping up in cult films like ‘The Shining’ and ‘Amelie’, and providing the signature tune to the 90’s sitcom, ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’, his songs go straight to the heart.”

Jake Oldershaw (Untied Artists)

The performance sees the professional performers from United Artists combine with local talent from Forest Arts Centre to re-create a new version of this popular show. Including members from Forest Arts Centre’s youth theatre, and local musicians joining the community band.

All tickets are £5, and there are performances on Thursday 11th August at 2pm & 7pm, and also Friday 12th August at 7pm at Forest Arts Centre, in Walsall. Call the box office on 0300 555 2898 or follow the link below:
